Before

Project Summary:

DCR was contacted late one night when a 24-inch water main broke, causing up to 2½ feet of water and mud to leak into school. Work started that same night by extracting the mud and water. DCR removed all of the main floor level's vinyl floor tile along with cove base and ceiling tile.

The drying process took seven days, and also involved extensive cleaning of walls, furniture, kitchen equipment and other classroom items. The reconstruction took ten days, including installing new ceiling tile, vinyl floor tile, and cove-base; painting all the walls in hall ways and classrooms, and new HVAC units. The accident happened three weeks before school started and school started only one week late thanks to DCR's up-front coordination and tight planning.
