Tips For the Season
Thursday, December 15th, 2016
Freezing temperatures have settled in on the Valley, Foothills and Mountains of East Tennessee. Make sure you turn off your external water spigots and cover them if possible. Disconnect and drain water hoses and drain your lawn sprinkler system. Water pipes that run along exterior walls and crawl spaces are more subject to freezing, do what you can to keep those areas warm.
Keep a water faucet inside on cold water drip to prevent freezing, and keep the gutters clean to prevent ice dams and dangerous icicles. Call a chimney sweep to inspect and clean your chimney.
