Crete Carrier Opens New Terminal
Tuesday, December 14th, 2010
Crete Carrier Corporation opened the doors to its new Knoxville, Tennessee, terminal, built by JOSEPH Construction Company of Knoxville. The new terminal, located west of Knoxville, sits next to Interstate 40 and Highway 321, and can be accessed using exits 364 and 362. The physical address is 2229 West Buttermilk Road, Lenoir City, Tennessee.
The terminal is built on 26 acres of fenced land and includes an office, driver center, tractor/trailer shop, technician lounge, and training room. It also has a separate facility for a truck wash, and a fuel island with an inspection lane. Included in the 26 acres is 15 acres of hard surface parking space which will accommodate lots of space for future fleet growth.
“I am extremely pleased to see the completion of the terminal. The location is excellent for our drivers to access the property with easy access and visibility from the interstate. There is also ample room for parking, and a state of the art driver center that includes a driver training room, lounge, lunch room, showers, laundry, and bunk rooms,” says Karel Znamenacek, Executive Vice President of Crete Carrier Corporation.
The terminal will also be environmentally friendly. In addition to the recycling of routine shop consumables, the wash water from the truck wash will be reclaimed and recycled, and the shop will use a waste oil heater for fuel to heat the shop in the winter.
