Blount Retirement Community Breaks Ground on New Apartments
MARYVILLE — Asbury Inc., which operates the Asbury Place retirement community in Blount County, broke ground today on a $6 million apartment project.
St. Clair Apartments at Asbury Place will include 48 apartment units, a wellness center, dining room and renovations to an existing clubhouse.
The apartments will be built at the site of Asbury Place Maryville, 2648 Sevierville Road in Maryville and will range in size from 900 square feet to more than 1,700 square feet. Floor plans will include one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
Asbury Place said reservations are being accepted for the St. Clair Apartments, which are scheduled to be completed in 2011.
Joseph Construction of Knoxville is the general contractor on the project and SFCS Inc. of Roanoke, Va., is the architect.
Asbury Inc. is affiliated with the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church and already operates a health-care center, assisted living facility and homes at its Maryville location.
